IBIS Basic User Course
Dates: Course 1: July 9-11, 2008
Course 2: August 4-6, 2008
Location: West Virginia University, Morgantown, WV
Description: The IBIS Basic User Course gives the student a thorough understanding of the operation of IBIS. The course is broken down into 3 days. Day one will focus on “What is IBIS?” The student will be introduced to the IBIS components and interface. They will begin acquiring cartridge case images into cases and exhibits. Day two will focus on acquiring and evaluating pristine and damaged bullet images. The third day will focus on correlation, calibration, and other items.
Course Requirements: This course is geared toward IBIS operators who are new to the field or those who would like a refresher.

Course Registration: Please fill out the IBIS Basic User Course Registration Form . Once submitted, the registrant will be contacted with further details regarding travel and lodging.
Due to the nature of the course, only 2 spots are available due to the hands-on instruction with the IBIS. More courses will be available in the upcoming months.
Registration for state and local forensic service providers are funded by NIJ Award 2001-RC-CX-K003 and 2003-RC-CX-K001.
Glock Armorers Course
Date: February 12, 2008
Description: The Glock Armorers Course gives the student a thorough understanding of the operation of Glock pistols. In the morning, the student will be lectured on safety rules, the function of safeties, field stripping, magazines, and the disassembly of the slide. After a lunch break, the remaining lecture will cover the disassembly of the receiver, trigger configurations, disassembly of the entire pistol, sights, trouble-shooting, and repairs. At the end of the course, students will be given a review and a written examination.
