Onsite Training

The FSI offers many onsite forensic science courses and workshops around the country throughout the year. These courses were developed to assist with the need and requests of forensic scientists. With an award from the National Institute of Justice, most of these courses are free to practicing forensic scientists who are with a state or local agency.

Some of the courses that have been previously offered are:

  • Crime Scene Investigation
  • Forensic Fiber and Textile Analysis
  • Basic Collection of Biological Evidence
  • Bloodstain Pattern Analysis
  • Hair Evaluation for DNA Analysis

The FSI has also held training programs that compile several courses into one large training session:

  • Continuing Education for Forensic Professionals Program, March 2007
  • Forensic Biology & DNA Continuing Education Program, July 2007
  • 2009 Continuing Education for Forensic Professionals Program, June 2009
